Does not end with prospective employees
I had a company who, when taking me into a permanent position from nearly four months as a temp, required me to take a physical and drug screen after working a full 8+ hours on Graveyard Shift, with no prior notice. I showed up the day after (simply because I did not see the date of the appointment on the referral slip). I suspected it was more than just a routine Physical and Drug Screen, which I did submit to, and, I was right, they wanted a Physical Performance AND Stress Analysis Test (which I did refuse). The HR TROLL said that I would be fired for insubordination, Wrong!!!! Employers can not, or, should not be authorized to require ANY physical Performance, not specifiy job related, on Personal time, without compensation (Which was true in this case). I did walk away with my had held high, because, this was obviously an employer that would be unreasonable toward ALL employee issues. The company was Pacific Coast Industries, A parts producer for NUMMI (American Toyota Assembly Operation - who's parts represent serious quality issues that were practiced to save on material costs ON FUEL/BRAKE/EMISSION CONTROL LINES AND ABS DUCTING INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT). DON'T BUY TOYOTAS!!!!
