The job market is horrible and it's only going to get worse. Wages have been stagnant for decades. We should begin to accept the fact that double digit is the norm for employment, as it has been in europe even well before the economic crisis.

the new bubble is securitized Obama conspiracy theories, or OCTs, which are now being bid-up to outrageous levels, and which will culminate in exploding government buildings and assassinated politicians tune to Fox News for the latest updates on how YOU can get in on this "revolutionary" bubble now!

not true my friend I started part-time MPA instead of decent MBA with a hope to get one of those government jobs that everybody predicted will emerge. I have been looking for a full time employment in state/local/county governments in approx 70 mile radius for about six months now and nada. They are not hiring. They are cutting. And more cuts are coming. I keep hearing about Obama stimulus money for this town, Obama stimulus money for that county project, but... no new openings. I am on a constant watch. I have my resume tailored and polished by the a person who just retired from the local government HR dept and no results. Things are just as hopeless as in private business. Plus government prefers to rehire former laid-off employees. new people stand no chance.

What needs to happen. Double digit unemployment is to be the new norm. The world just has more peeps than jobs. I'm sure you know that European/US economies are closely intertwined. The have the exact same problem we have: They do not make their countries competitive enough to attract companies to set up their home base there. MOST COUNTRIES in the world encourage foreign business by offering incredible tax breaks. They even go overboard by paying foreign co's money to hire locals. The much needed revolution in the US needs to start on a STATE level. CA needs to COMPETE with TX, FL needs to COMPETE with MA, etc. COMPETE for businesses to be physiy located there. This competition will eventually parlay into the USA being, once again, where companies want to be PHYSICALLY LOCATED on a world-wide scale. Every company would like to be here anyways - for logistical purposes as we are the biggest economy and the best consumers. We need to arrange for some type of revolution to take place directed at state and local governments. It should take place (be accessible) via the Internet. Start thinking about what we should do. Thanks for your post. - FD

Not feasible The revolution cannot take place by asking peeps to physiy show up. It has to take place via the Internet. Bombardment (flooding bandwidth) is the only thing I can think of.

This happens daily. Jersey City competes with Manhattan. Nevada with Ca. Tennessee with the Northeast. Texas with Michigan/Ohio. These states actively recruit business from the former.

The DO NOT compete enough! Billions of bux have been spent on R&D here in the US. There are lots and lots of new companies stemming from R&D. We are the world leaders in R&D. These sprouting companies are NOT setting up operations in the USA because they get such a good deal setting things up in other countries --- they can't say 'no'. Jersey City needs to compete with Manilla, Philippines.
