Wonderlic Personnel Test & Personality Tests... Recently I am being asked to take on-line tests such as these. I am a job applicant seeking employment. When the "OMS Questionnaire" (self-report personality inventory)link was sent to me by an HR person, I checked boxes on 2 pages of "personality qualities". At the beginning, there is nothing to tell me what will be done with my testing results, privacy or how long it will be retained. And, at the end of it there is no reply about the test results, nor from the HR person who sent it to me. Before I take more tests like this I am wondering if I have any rights regarding my access to the results of this information. I am scheduled to take more testing at an office soon. I want to ask to have a copy of the results. I realize that asking for anything might put me at risk, but I think it is only right that I know the results. I'm thinking of saying, " I will be happy to take any tests you like however I require a copy of the test results for my records". Having a copy would be like a receipt to be sure the results were not altered (a glitch of some kind). Does a test applicant have any rights with their personal info?

you are most likely out of luck Personality tests are one of many tools HR / companies use to assess fit with the organization. They are supposed to do internal validation studies using testing results linked to successful job performers to make sure they can legally defend this practice in court, though not every organization does this. No company will just release your results. You would have to file a discrimination suit and subpoena the documents (assuming you are not hired) claiming the testing was discriminatory. It’s frustrating I know! I work in HR and can’t even get my own results when interviewing for promotions/transfers. The key to taking these assessments is to consider your first instinct and THEN think about what the company wants to hear. If there is a difference you need to walk the company line at least 70% of the time. Ex – I like to have fun at work? Yes or No? I think all of us like to have fun at work. However, answering yes to this question every time it is asked may lead your profile into “goof-off” vs. “get’s things done.” Most of the time this splits the difference on personality/integrity tests and allows you to fall into the company profile.

    you can find ..portions of most of those tests online, if you would like to "pre" take them to see the results.
