OMG!!! NO JOBS!!! There are no jobs any where. Husband and I have looked and looked. He did garner two interviews from finds but no backs on either. We know that for the 911 dispatcher's job that came open there were over 400 applicants. The 21st the rent is due. DO NOT HAVE IT. Been unemployed for two years now and have totally exhausted savings. There's 400 or so left there. I blame every politician. I blame them from the 70's to present day. I have no clue what's going to happen but I'm stressing BIG TIME. In our area, Magic Chef sold to Maytag, Maytag sold to Whirlpool, Whirlpool downsized and went to Mexico. Catnapper went to Mexico, Collins Manf. Went to Mexico, on and on and on. All over this city I see empty factories and warehouses. I see in their stead being build...... Drug store after drug store after drug store. Who has money for all these meds?

Someone needs to tell Obama That the USA is BROKER THAN A CONVICT. WE ARE IN THE HOLE. They want to fix health care? I can fix it right now. Take everyone that is receiving any kind of TAX DOLLAR health care OFF THE ROLES RIGHT NOW. That would be Congressmen, Senators, Your local mayor, School Teachers, Policemen, etc. Everyone in a tax payer paid insurance situation. It would rock the health world if we took every one off the rolls....... OH YES!! And all the welfare insurance. Throw those ppl off the rolls too. How is it fair??? That for years all of us have paid for other's insurance and yet can't afford it for our ownselves.

It would be a great start to a fix....... The insurance companies would HAVE to lower prices. They would have no choice. Don't you see that "free" insurance started all this BS? "FREE" healthcare stirred the hunger of the beast known as GREED How many millions of ppl in the USA have "free" insurance? Pharmacies would be forced to lower prices also.

It might just work No one thinks health care is great right now (well no one that hasn't fallen hole hog the the insurance propaganda). The hardest part of doing ANYTHING with healthcare is getting something moving. The multi-billion dollar industry hires so many lobbyist and has payed off so many politicians that doing anything that is change has become all but impossible. You remove all the tax payer supported healthcare that is at least movement. It might even break the backs of these insurance comapanys since tax payed health care is a huge part of the industry. Really the only big stick approach that might work better is criminalizing charging for care. If there is NO money in healthcare, no insurance will want to touch it.

wow, the insurance oligopoly has really done a number on you, eh? health insurance costs so much primarily because there is little real competition for the handful of insurance companies who like it that way, and they are fighting any change tooth and nail, via all manner of fear, uncertainty and doubt, conveniently disseminated by suckers like you. they thank you very much for acting against your own self-interest 10...9...8... (countdown until someone s me a "socialist")

Please do not blame Obama when Americans insisted on putting Bush in term for eight years. Naturally this would be the effect. Obama just inherited a rotten economy.

Obama is focusing on Healthcare not creation of JOBS. Bush put us into debt with China fighting Terrorists. It is clinton who created NAFTA and opened the doors for Offshoring and outsourcing and not a politican that I am aware of had the BALLS to step up and protect AMERICAN JOBS with any real concrete solution or program that they have put into place, either at a local, state or national level. SO Both REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS have lost their way with the american people and are too busy lining their pockets to give a damn about the average American joe, who works at a register or sits behind a desk. Instead of giving tax releases, they are raising taxes, offering gambling as an option to boost missed tax revenue and giving large corporations billions of dollars who turn around and open plants and operations in other countries then the US. OBAMA has put the US into more debt in 9 months of being in office than any other president in the HISTORY of the United States. I have no faith in the man, and he doesn't have the experience or qualifications to perform the job, for which the masses blinded voted him in. He should resign from office and Biden should take over.

The numbers may be right... i don't know, but they can not be taken alone Much of the debt was inhereted. Bush had a convient way of keeping the books and also much of the debt comes from his policies. Both Clinton and the Republican pushed through NAFTA, with dissent on the extreme right and extreme left about creating jobs...well...i know i use a lot of inuendo here, but....you can't make butter with a toothpick. There is no way to instantly create jobs that will last. This takes more than 150 or so days.... Obama is not to blame. Politicians as a whole, you can blame if you'd like.

you see, the reason I ask is... With no fanfare and little notice, the national debt has grown by more than $4 trillion during George W. Bush’s presidency. It’s the biggest increase under any president in U.S. history. On the day President Bush took office, the national debt stood at $5.727 trillion. The latest number from the Treasury Department shows the national debt now stands at more than $9.849 trillion. That’s a 71.9 percent increase on Mr. Bush’s watch. and Bush handed Obama a $1.2 trillion deficit

As I explained to your earlier there is no magic wand that can be waived for "creation of jobs". That's what the stimulus is supposed to do. Unfourtunately, it may take years. You do realize that a lot of the stimulus money isn't even spent yet right, and wont be till next year? Our country was in debt long before Bush and will be long after Obama. And who, exactly, is raising taxes?

I'll be more than fair, The Bush and Clinton administrations have all but destroyed America. Actually they've pretty well destroyed it IMHO. Then "well-meaning" Obama who has ZERO experience and just a bunch of 40 watt bright ideas goes in and is on a good start to finishing the Bush/Clinton job. Who voted for NAFTA and CAFTA? That would be a Republican and Democratic congress and senate. Yep, They voted together for it. They always, BOTH PARTIES, vote against most Americans. They just pit us against each other on the "moral" points. Who wanted border patrol? Oh well... that would be the vast majority of Americans whatever the political party. They won't listen. Who was against the stimulus? Vast majority of Americans.... whatever the political party..... what happened? Both parties voted against us.

Congrats! THERE ARE ZERO JOBS HERE!! All of them have gone south and I mean that literally. We're playing Dust Bowl games. I ABSOLUTELY BLAME THE GOVERNMENT. I worked 14 yrs and then 9 yrs before this lay off. Last job..... all the parts that were coming from America started coming from Mexico. The more state laws that TN passed the more regressive they made it for the company that I worked for to compete. Tax laws, of course. Time to MOVE MOVE MOVE.

Tell me about it I've been out of work since April 2008!! Yes, that's a year-and-a-half. A very loooong time to be without a job. My sanity has definitely hit a wall. I've tried every which way to find a job, but it's not the "finding," it's the "being offered a job" that's the truly hard part. It's very scary to think that you may never work again. I'm at a loss. I can't just easily go back to school for a master's because that would run up 50 or 60 grand in student loans. No thanks. I can't even be offered a job among the ones where I do have experience. Noone wants to take a chance on an inexperienced person anymore since the hiring pool is deep and wide. I don't have any answers. We're screwed.
