construction I try to make my self understandable because english is my secondary lenguage, and the only benefit by reading this blogs, is learning more about this burocrat country, and excuse me if I offend someone, but as you read this blogs, is all about unemployment and gettin rejected, because of a qualifications, tough, I respect the hard work everybody do, receptionists, waiters, or I, construction worker, I lost my job 2 years ago, because a work accident, and since then I been struggling to get a decent job, I been trying to be honest on the applications and tell the truth, when they ask why or reason for leaving. And you know what? Non of this people have the right to judge anybody, and just trash your application, just because Im honest.

first of all I was trying to make you feel comfortable and let you know that I DO UNDERSTAND Spanish and that I know where you are coming from but apparently you are an uneducated moron who is pissed off for some reason and has no other outlet than an online discussion forum. Before you go on ranting remember where you came from as I'm sure that you have used that term as a reference joke and no more than that.

What are you saying, exactly? That others shouldn't complain, because you respect them, but you should get to complain, because you are honest on your applications?

Did your accident make it difficult to do physical work? Hi Guarumo. I am trying to think of some options for you but, first let me ask you some questions... 1. Are able to be on your feet all day? Do you have any physical limitations? 2. Is your other language Spanish? 3. Do you have a computer/Internet and phone at home? 4. Where is COS? 5. Are you a US citizen? If not, where do you have citizenship (or where are you able to work)? 6. Are you over 18 years old? 7. Any felony records on you (or, any felonies in the past 7 years if your state goes back 7 years on this)? As you might know, the construction industry has been really bad. I will try to think of how to help you if you can provide some answers to these questions. Thanks for your post.

being raised in another country should not be an excuse to not know English, if I went to France I would be expected to be able to communicate in French Clearly the same applies if I were to go to Mexico or somewhere else other than the U.S.A.

That really does depend upon how long the individual lived overseas and the school they went to. Not all people who live overseas have the advantages of going to English speaking schools.

Disability insurance is your friend Since you are a US Citizen, you might qualify for Disability Insurance. You would need to have a doctor's note stating that you are in pain and cannot work any more because being on your feet all day is painful. You cannot do construction work either because of your back problems. From my understanding, disability insurance pays a lot more than unemployment insurance. Plus, it is on-going payment. Have you looked into this? A herniated disk is not fun! You sound like a good person, Guarumo. I hope to hear your response.

Hello guarumo... Imagine if you were a Business Owner, and you were trying to hire someone to fill a position. How would you determine if you should or shouldn't hire a person? You judge them by their work experience by looking at their application. If you like them, you and verify their work history. If everything checks out okay, you have them come in to do an interview. While you are interviewing them, you look at how they present themself. This entire process is about making a judgment to make a final decision to hire a person, or not. I am really not sure what you are trying to say, but they may not be trashing your application because of you saying something that they don't like or because you told them the truth about getting injured. They may be finding other people that they just liked better then you, so don't take it personal. It could be as easy as someone else having more experience than you for that job. Just keep moving forward and applying to jobs that you are qualified for, and eventually, you will be working again...

First of all I would hope that you have been through the workers compensation system. If your injury happened at work then you are entitled to that. I do not know about the area that you are in but in some states vocational rehabilitation is a part of workers comp. You might want to look into that. Or as someone else mentioned State disability
