sorry I don't mean to be a negative nelly it's just I have been there and done with the temp world. 1. Said she would hire me, a nice lawyer, but then her husband wanted to quit his office and work with her at hers. So there was not enough work for me. 2. Was an admin/technical writer for a company and they had a girl leave and said they would hire me since I took over her duties and still did my own. They kept dragging their feet saying we have to get it approved by share holders, etc. Finally they just let me go with about 500 workers. 3. Dream job, was an editorial assistant as a temp to hire. I tried to apply for the regular job but HR told the editor I worked with that I lived too far away and there was no way they would allow me to be hired. The girl they did hire lied on her resume and job application, refused to even stay one minute past 5 (but showed up late every morning) and complained that he expected too much when he expected her know software she said she had used before. I begged to be hired even if another department so the editor went to HR who once again: she lives too far away and we have a hiring freeze. Never again will I do temp.
