At least next year can't be much worse!!! Part I If it does get worse, well, Jesse Ventura, Ted Nugent, and the Militias will all be fighting a civil war over states and territory while everyone else loots for food, and the USA begins to resemble all the other third world nations. The big difference is that unlike the third world countries that exist today, we haven't been doing this our whole life, so we have a lot of adapting to do. On the flip side, things could turn around too. Due to our massive military arsenals, and all the hidden money that the wealthiest 1% are currently hording, I don't think the economy will totally collapse, although it may get close. Here is my reasoning. If the depression worsen to the point of widespread violence and panic, the rich and super wealthy will begin dumping all they can into the economy almost akin to doing CPR on a person without a pulse. The reason, is that the only things that make them rich are money, and posessions. Posessions can easily be looted. A human will die form a bullet wound the same way, no matter how many zero's are on the end of their annual income. In a collapse, all their money becomes worthless. Some may have cache's of gold, but who will buy it? Food, water, and bullets will be the hot commodities. The rich know this. That is why they will continue to ride this one out while everyone else starves and suffers (that way they can buy cheap, after all who owns all these foreclosed homes, and who is buying them now at 20% what they were worth 3 years ago?). If the rule of law begins to wane, they will dump as much money into the economy as they can in order to preserve the system that makes them elite, and garuntees their ownership entitlements.

Part II When the wealthiest people start dumping their cash reserves into the economy, there will be money to lend, trade, sell, and earn. If you think about basic economics, and horde all the money and leave it stagnant, you cripple an economy. More money is printed to replace what is under your mattress for daily use by everyone else. Inflation sets in, and the money loses value. Thus the prices for everything go up, except when there is excess supply (like the housing market). If you continue to absorb money due to only stopping growth, or downsizing, you still add to what's under your mattress. When the government can no longer borrow or print more money, everything hits bottom dollar except staple supplies like food. Those become worth killing for because they are too expensive to buy. It is a perfect oppertunity to enact a hostile take over of everything while it is cheap. The money is flooded into the economy and gains value again. In the long term, those who had money the whole time make a slaughtering, and we all just go back to work. One thing to remember. Unlike most other groups of anyone, rich people ALL understand money, and how an economy works! Once the initial wave of massive capitalization occurs it will be like a tsunami, because they will all do it at once, and the recession will effectively end. We will have another boom. The tricky part is knowing when to pull the trigger. Mark my words, if things start to get out of hand you will see a sudden massive investment by the richest of the rich into the market, and commercial sector, and within 6 months we will be undergoing recordbreaking growth once again. If they wait too long, and we fall apart, well, start learning Chineese and Arabic.

The only thing is is that it has a history from 1954 and the world leaders and power brokers are going to do what they planned. If of course somehow they do not get side railed. That would be difficult to do, but who knows. The world bank is in control. If you want to read some good books I read in political science, let me know. What is to stop them?

Human nature. The World Bank is only in control as long as the system they have in place is alive. If it collapses, so do they. If the US economy tanks and we descend into a chaotic hell on earth, what good is their money? Is the US economy at large completely collapses, the entire world will follow. Imagine if every bank in the US failed right now. What would happen? With very few exceptions, that is what it would be like to the rest of the world if our economy colapsed. If they let this go too far, it could be very very bad!!!

Yeah, I agree, but the Bilderberg Group has their stuff worked out. They have themselves protected while they have a plan in the works for the rest of us. I am sure they have some plan of action to save themselves from disaster while we all perish.

LOL I thought about Bilderberg when I was watching the disaster movie 2012 - if that were to come to pass you can bet your sweet bippy that there would be ONE ark(ship) specifiy for the Bilderberg lot and their cronies/families etc....... not to mention they'd make sure they had all their little "treasures" stowed away as well They'd be the FIRST of the "priviliged to live" you can count on it If we ever need a liferaft, they'll be there first.

It can't be doing that well. I am qualified to haul Class 1.1 and 1.4 Explosives, and I still can't find work here. Hey everyone! Buy more bullets so I can haul it for you and get a paycheck! Just kidding. About the paycheck anyways. As long as there is a surplus of cheap labor from parts unknown (and papers unknown) I will have to wait it out. Seriosuly, buy more bullets. What is the worst that can happen. If nothing happens you can spend a couple days having fun, and improving marksmanship at a local range. If the crap hit's the fan, you won't be at the mercy of your local looters and street gangs. Who did you think was going to start and dominate the chaos. In this situation, Bloods and Crips would be elevated to the ranks of Hezbollah and Al-Quaida. They would become world powers, not just thug unions. The only thing stopping them now is law enforcement, and they don't always stop them. Instead of running a block, they woill be running counties and states. I don't know about you, but if that happens, I want my weapons!

Once that may have been true that if the USA sneezed the rest of the world caught pneumonia - to be honest I'm not so sure that's true anymore I think if the USA collapsed there would be SOME havoc and choas in world markets but I don't think it would have the same effect as if it had happened say half a century ago

I would tend to think that we are more interconnected now than we were a century ago. The Internet and global markets make us more connected now in a global economy. The only thing that would save one country from another I think would be the currencies and debt. I think China and Asia are doing better, but I think the Bilderberg Group wants to even the global playing field.

What's to stop them? I don't know. I always thought I'd grow up to be one of the 'haves' not the 'have nots'. I loathe politics. What do they produce? Deals? LOL - what good are they? I read something today...many countries are looking towards the USA for answers. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is worried about the world in general and especially, the USA. The IMF predicts the USA plunging into economic ruin (as well). Right now, the world needs a strong USA, see? We could soon be knocked out of the pix, however. I've read that our military will keep us in the game somehow (isn't that promising...we have a lot of bombs.) Sigh...I just want to find someone stupid enough to hire an American (me) and keep me there until I can get our aside biz up... ...before the co discovers that offshoring is the answer and I get laid off again. I'd like to get out of the USA for good (unless something drastic happens). Its not that I think other countries are less corrupt, there are cheaper places to be is all. God - can you imagine how badly it would suck to live in Russia? Its expensive, its corrupt, its cold, they now buy their roe and vodka from the Chinese and, save the lives of 'em, those who dye their hair always end up with some weird maroon color. So depressing... Its amazing - I've been applying for jobs all day...all of 'em can be off shored. LOL - in a way, it makes me more confident of my business savvy in that I'm applying to companies full of clueless idiots. I wonder where so many regs are? Where's Same-same, WoodButcher, ChristalLinda, KenLin, Sparky123, Nobledude, Oldenberg, R2H, etc?

In the long run the world may end up equalized as I think that is the endgame plan, so it may not matter where we are living. At the time I was on the other side of the iron curtain, things were cheap and I thought it is still that way. If we could combine the best aspects of all countries maybe it will work. All I want to do is find a job that hopefully I'll enjoy and work. Then maybe I could do some traveling and fulfilling some things I still want to do in life. Living this way in survival existence mode sucks.

We might not have a choice, but it may lead us to a different world to live in by 2012. All I want is a job that I can live on in the US now too. Totally agreed.

;you're assuming that the rich have tons of cash under their mattress. Problem is most of the wealth is paper wealth, look at Mr. Gates.....his wealth is the stock value of Microsoft. If the economy bottoms out the price of Microsoft drops and his wealth evaporates. No, Mr. Broke one your fantasy is just that....pure fantasy. All the wealthiest combined don't have enough cash (real or paper) to pull out the economy if it tanks....better to stock up on seeds and bullets.

Yes and no. Bill Gates still has enough liquid cash to write a check large enough to buy a whole city. His monthly income is still large thatn the annual budgets of many towns and cities. He is just one of many. I'm not just speaking of the 500 richest people. There are many more. Right now they are sitting on the fence and taking a wait and see approach. The ones that have faith in a comeback are sitting on money and real estate. The ones that fear a collapse are sitting on treasury bonds, precious metals, and commodity based securities like oil, grain, food stuffs, and pharmaceuticals. Yes Pharamaceuticals! If you have a hear condition, you may not need light, or air conditioning, but you need heat and nitrostat pills. You can collect rainwater, but lifesaving medicines don't fall from the sky unless you at at UNICEF camp in Africa. Either way, they are all waiting for the right moment to flip the switch. Once a few influentials like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and others go "all in", so will everyone else, because the very minute they do, prices will soar, and the whole point of holding out is to buy cheap. It's mob psycology, which whether we admit it or not, rule the stock market. When it does, Wall Street s it a trend.
